Bird Society
A downloadable game
Gentle Reader,
Surely you have wondered, looking upon a circling hawk or a preening flock of geese, do these birds have a society amongst themselves? Do they maintain intricate rules of proper behavior & social rank? Do they play out dramas of bird honor, bird courtship, bird inheritance, and bird scandal?
Fear not, Gentle Reader. We assure you, they do.
What is Bird Society?
Bird Society is an unofficial expansion for Good Society, the Jane Austen roleplaying game. As in the base game, you play members of Regency high society, dealing with drama & scandal. Unlike the base game, everyone is a bird.
Are you imagining a bird in a top hat? Good. You understand the game.
Where did this come from?
Bird Society originated as a silly idea pitched to me over a game of Wingspan, which I was then tragically forced to make real as part of Chloe's Penned to Good Society Game Jam.
What's included?
- An overview of setup & gameplay
- A setting primer, covering bird society's social order & key locales
- 7 character sheets, for each of bird society's clades/social classes
- A public information sheet to record setup decisions, secondary characters, and rumor & scandal
Does Bird Society require Good Society?
Yes, Birdy Society requires Good Society to play. Though Bird Society has its own modified rules, it uses the basic rules of Good Society, as well as Good Society's desire & relationship cards.
